During November 2015, we came to know the heartwarming news that six of our Brahmana Kodur girls have been chosen to be a part of the Girls Cricket Team for the Guntur district.

Our village high school sports teachers have approached us with a request to provide Cricket Uniform for the 16 girls who form the district team. With the support of our family members, we were able to fulfill their request. We felt a
proper uniform will help build self esteem and self confidence among those girls and help them progress further in studies and life in general.

Uniforms were presented at a function arranged at the village high school, just prior to the district tournament. The grateful smiles seen on the faces of those girls during the presentation were unbelievable! Later we were told that this team was the only one with proper uniform for the entire team. The team played really well at the tournament and secured third place at the district level. Three girls from the team got selected for the State team too, to compete in the national tournament to be held in Jammu & Kashmir later that month!
